A veneer is a thin porcelain facing bonded to the front of the tooth — around 0.3–0.5 mm of enamel prepared. A crown is a full-reduction cap. When UK patients come home from abroad with “veneers” that are actually crowns, that is the difference they were never shown.

0.3–0.5 mm of enamel prepared on the front face of the tooth only. Porcelain laminate bonded. The tooth remains alive. Reversibility is not complete, but damage is minimal.
1.5–2.0 mm of the tooth reduced on all four sides. The tooth becomes a stump. Often the nerve must be removed first. Irreversible. Useful — but for restorative cases, not cosmetic ones.
Portraits, intra-oral photos, 3D scan. Shade reading in daylight and studio light.
Design reviewed together. Composite mock-up tried in your mouth. You leave wearing the preview — for a day, if needed.
Enamel prepared in the 0.3–0.5 mm range. Preparation photograph recorded and filed.
Veneers tried in. Shade checked. Adhesive bonding under rubber dam. Occlusion adjusted.
Lithium-disilicate. Pressed and stained. Our default — strength, predictability, fifteen-year data.
Traditional porcelain, built layer by layer on a refractory die. Reserved for anterior cases where light translucency matters most.
No “no-prep” veneers bonded over untouched teeth — the result is bulk, not a smile. No zirconia veneers — wrong material for anterior aesthetics. No unbranded porcelain.

Every patient leaves GC Clinic with a written warranty, a complete records pack in PDF for any UK dentist, and a structured WhatsApp follow-up schedule (24h · 72h · 1 week · 1 month · 3 months · 6 months · 12 months). Annual video review with Dr. Öztürk is standard. If a covered complication occurs in the warranty period, our “we fly you back” clause — written in your treatment agreement, not a marketing phrase — covers the return flight, hotel and corrective treatment.
◆ Aftercare · what happens when you fly home
Your veneers are pressed in IPS e.max in our in-house press oven and hand-layered by the in-house ceramist where translucency and incisal character require it. Shade is verified at try-in against your photographs, not against a generic tab.
